I’m so anxious for autumn time. It’s only September 2nd, but already the leaves are falling and changing colors. I’m craving pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and I’ve been eagerly anticipating The Nightmare Before Christmas since last Christmas. Especially as I’ve been preparing for college in a place that’s usually about 20 degrees, I’ve been in a “sweaters and scarves” mindset since July.
I’ve been playing around with some fall designs, and decided to compile some of my favorite “fall” fonts. These fonts would be great with a bunch of other themes, but when paired with the autumnal imagery of our favorite delicious autumn foods, I fell in love with each one of them a little bit more.
The free fonts are only free for personal use, and the others are all pretty affordable and adorable for commercial use.
I identify as a font hoarder. All too often I find myself scrolling through font websites, usually when I’m starting to think about a new project. It’s worse than walking through the grocery store when you’re starving, because if it’s a free font website, I usually end up with about 100 new fonts clogging up my downloads folder.
Today was one of those days. I’d recently purchased a handful of new fonts, and realized I hadn’t gone to any free font websites for a while. I was so surprised and impressed by the quality of fonts I found on dafont.com. And it was all free. Of course, most of these were just demo versions for personal use (I’ll be buying a couple licenses for commerical use shortly!) but that’s still plenty to play around with.
After my escapade onto dafont.com, I went just a little crazy trying to find the perfect pairings for some of my favorite fonts I’d downloaded. The result was this collection of 7 fun, beautiful, new handlettered font pairings. Most of them are free (for personal use) and a couple are well worth the price.
